About

Finance and AI. The day and the long run.

Quid de… ?

The name comes from Latin. In French, quid de… ? is the question you ask to get to the point: so what, really? And in British English, a quid is also a pound sterling. For a publication about money, the wink was hard to resist.

Two speeds

QUID makes sense of finance and artificial intelligence, from the news of the day to the deep shifts underneath.

The day is the news that matters, sorted and explained: what happened, and why it matters. The long run is the big trends and the major changes, the ones that reshape a profession or a market within a few years.

Two sections under one name: QUID Finance for investing, corporate finance, markets, fundraising and private equity; QUID AI for artificial intelligence, seen through business and capital.

Many voices

QUID does not speak with a single voice. It brings together professionals in the field, financiers, researchers, founders, engineers, from several countries. That is what sets it apart: one subject, seen from the trading floor, the lab and the boardroom.

A way of writing

Analysis, not rewritten newswire. The tone is that of a British-style weekly: demanding, well written, with wit and a little irony, never a cheap shot. We would rather ask a good question than serve a ready-made answer.

Independence

QUID is independent. It is funded by brand partnerships, always labelled as such, and the editors keep control of what they publish. No partner reads or approves a piece before publication.
